Robert Nyheim-Jomisko holds a Ph.D. in Science and Technology Studies from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He was trained in political science and environmental history at The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture. Nyheim-Jomisko has made a valuable contribution to the empirical study of knowledge and learning in public administration and policy development, particularly in relation to climate change.
Advocate and activist
Robert is a strong advocate for racial equality, children's rights, climate action, and social justice. He has used his voice to champion and help raise awareness for these issues through political action, research, media commentary and public speaking engagements.
He has taught classes at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology on the politics of climate change, environmental history, and relationship between scientific development and technological innovation.
Robert is also the co-founder of Senter for interseksjonalitet, an interdisciplinary research environment dedicated to ensuring equitable services and rights for vulnerable groups.
Social entrepreneur
From 2009 to 2019, Robert ran Dødpop, a record label focused predominantly on modern funk and hip-hop. The releases have drawn rave reviews from the likes of Rolling Stone Magazine, The Guardian, VICE, and Los Angeles Times.
He is also the co-founder of Leutenfest, an independent music festival winning the Audience Award from NATT&DAG, The DIGS award, and a nomination for the Music Industry Award from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
